Last Sunday, our top jazz musicians, dog lovers and partners, i.e. Wellness, The Honest Kitchen and SG Barkery came together to raise funds for 150 local mongrels that are taking shelter at Action For Singapore Dogs (ASD). As a new start up, Good Dog People is deeply honoured and exhilarated to be part of this momentous event.

These are some of the 300 picnic bags making their way to the event. The sale proceeds of these baskets will be used to defray the rising cost of medical services for the shelter dogs. (Credit: Action for Singapore Dogs, ASD)

Social media dog influencers, @somewhitecookie, @zappy_sheltie and @kookysheltie were also spotted at the event. It's no wonder an obligatory wefie and hashtag is a must! (Credit: @somewhitecookie)

The evening started with a slight drizzle but it sure did not dampen everyone's mood. Armed with picnic mats and food, dogs and hoomans were in high spirits. It was also an honour meeting our Speaker, Tan Chuan-Jin. (Credit: Tan Chuan-Jin)

With Good Dog People, it's always dogs, people and planet first. Packing 600 biodegradable poop bags were not fun but we hope they were useful!

Sponsors were given a booth but Singapore Botanic Gardens has a strict no-sale policy. So we decided to turn our booth into an outdoor doggy photo booth. We were nervous about the idea but glad that it turned out well!

So 2 hours flew by very quickly and as always, good things must come to an end. We were glad with how the photo booth images turned out despite the seemingly poor weather during the evening. It was a lot of fun doing the shoot and seeing dogs reacting to the booth. If only we had more time to capture more images and have longer conversations with people.

If you like to view more of the photo booth images, you may check out our Facebook album <here>. For every image tagged @gooddogpeople on Facebook or Instagram, we will be donating a dollar to ASD.

The show has ended but our efforts in helping our local mongrels do not end here. If you still like to lend your support to our mongrels, you can do so through volunteer, sponsorships, donations and even dog adoption programs with ASD. More details can be found <here>.
