The next thing to keep in mind when training your dog is to be patient. Dogs have a shorter attention span compared to humans and get easily distracted when they find something more interesting - so don’t get impatient if your dog gets distracted after a while. Patience is also crucial in this training process because your dog might take a while to process what you are trying to teach - having to take a few tries before getting the trick right.

Another thing you would want to make sure is done throughout the obedience training process is to be consistent. Consistency means your dog reacting to the same set of instructions in any kind of setting, despite the person giving them - training your dog to react based on instructions and not react based on his/her surroundings. It is also important to review the tricks taught and not overload your dog with dog commands or tricks - take it a step at a time slowly moving on to more advanced dog tricks.

Positive reinforcements are a key factor in this whole training process. By reinforcing gooddog behaviour with rewards like treats and praises it helps your dog better understand that the behaviour is allowed and acceptable - helping to move the training process that much faster.
